hey didn’t just deliver medical care; they delivered hope, respect, and love during one of the most vulnerable moments of our lives.
Walking into a hospital for a scheduled induction is already overwhelming—the sterile hallways, the beeping monitors, the weight of knowing your life is about to change forever. Add to that the vulnerability of bringing a new life into the world, and fear can easily take over. But from the moment we met our nurses, Janelle and Karen, that fear transformed into confidence, comfort, and an overwhelming sense of being truly cared for.
Janelle: Three Days of Unwavering Support
For three full days, Janelle was our anchor. She didn’t just provide medical care—she provided peace of mind. In those early, uncertain hours of induction, when nothing seemed to be progressing and anxiety threatened to overwhelm us, Janelle was there with answers, reassurance, and genuine warmth. She explained every step of the process in a way that made us feel informed rather than intimidated.
She anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them, ensuring we were always comfortable and never alone in our concerns. What set Janelle apart wasn’t just her clinical expertise—though that was evident in every professional, thorough action she took—it was the way she made us feel seen. She treated us not as patients to be processed, but as people experiencing one of life’s most profound moments.
For three days, she walked beside us through every contraction, every monitoring session, every moment of hope and frustration. We felt loved. We felt safe. We felt like we mattered.
Karen: Honest Advocacy When We Needed It Most
When Karen took over Thursday evening, we were exhausted, emotionally drained, and still hoping for the natural birth we’d envisioned. After three days of induction with no dilation and no meaningful contractions, we needed someone who could be both compassionate and honest—and Karen was exactly that person. She didn’t sugar-coat our situation, but she also never made us feel like failures.
Instead, she became our advocate. Karen presented our options with clarity and professionalism, helping us understand the medical realities we faced while still honoring our wishes and concerns. She gave us the information we needed to make informed decisions about our care, always respecting our autonomy while ensuring our safety and that of our baby. Karen’s ability to balance honesty with sensitivity was remarkable.
She validated our hopes for a natural birth while helping us understand when it was time to consider alternatives. She never rushed us, never dismissed our feelings, and never made us feel like just another case. She made a difficult transition feel like a supported, informed choice rather than a defeat.
Two Nurses, One Extraordinary Experience Together
Janelle and Karen turned what could have been a traumatic experience into one filled with dignity, comfort, and exceptional care. They embodied everything we hope for in healthcare providers—clinical excellence paired with genuine human compassion. They didn’t just deliver medical care; they delivered hope, respect, and love during one of the most vulnerable moments of our lives. We are overjoyed and profoundly grateful for these two remarkable women. They deserve every recognition for the extraordinary difference they make in the lives of the families they serve.
