I am honored to nominate Taran for the DAISY Award in recognition of her extraordinary care, compassion, and professionalism during one of the most vulnerable times in my life. As my post-surgical nurse, Taran not only attended to my physical recovery, but she also cared for my emotional well-being in a way that was deeply meaningful and unforgettable. From the moment I came out of surgery, Taran was a steady and reassuring presence. She anticipated my needs before I even voiced them, managed my pain with precision and empathy, and took time to explain every step of the recovery process so that I never felt anxious or alone. She listened with genuine attentiveness, never rushed, and always made me feel like I was her top priority, even though I knew she was managing a full patient load. What truly set Taran apart was the compassion she wove into every task. Whether adjusting my pillows to help me sit up or simply offering kind words when I needed them most, she brought humanity into every moment of care. Her touch was gentle, her words were encouraging, and her confidence gave me peace of mind during a time when I felt incredibly vulnerable. Taran exemplifies what it means to be a DAISY Nurse. She is a shining example of clinical excellence paired with the kind of heart that can't be taught.
