Deserae’s impact goes far beyond clinical skill — she restores dignity and hope every single day.
From the very first day I met Deserae, I knew I was in the best possible hands. She is the kind of nurse who doesn’t just treat your condition — she treats your soul. Every time she walks into the room, she brings peace, clarity, and genuine compassion. Deserae takes the time to explain everything she is doing with such patience and empathy. No matter how many tasks she has, she always makes me feel like I’m her only patient. She listens without rushing, answers every question, and somehow manages to make even the hardest days easier to face. I’ve been hospitalized for a long time, and I can tell you that nurses like Deserae are rare. She’s a natural leader — calm, professional, and so skilled that I honestly believe she could train the entire staff in what true patient-centered care means. She leads by example through kindness, presence, and the art of truly listening.

What means the most to me is how she makes me feel — not like a burden, but like someone who matters. She reminds me that healing isn’t just physical, it’s emotional and spiritual too. I trust her completely, and even when my wife isn’t here, I know I’m safe and cared for because Deserae embodies excellence in every sense of the word. Deserae is not only an extraordinary nurse but a blessing to every patient who has the privilege to be under her care. The T10 Transplant Team — and every patient like me — is better because of her.

Deserae’s impact goes far beyond clinical skill — she restores dignity and hope every single day. During my transplant recovery, there were moments when I felt completely defeated, too weak to move or eat, and she found gentle ways to motivate me without pressure. She would explain each medication and procedure so I could understand what my body was going through, turning fear into confidence. There was one day when I was anxious and struggling, and Deserae stayed by my side longer than she had to. She monitored every detail, reassured me with calm words, and adjusted things until I could finally rest. That kind of care doesn’t come from training alone — it comes from the heart. She also celebrates progress like it’s her own victory.

When I finally took my first few steps after surgery, she clapped and smiled like a proud coach. In that moment, I didn’t just see a nurse — I saw someone who truly believes in her patients. Deserae has an incredible ability to teach through her actions. I’ve seen her guide newer nurses and CNAs with patience and respect, showing them how to be both efficient and kind. She makes teamwork look effortless because she leads with compassion. Because of her, my confidence in the healing process grew, my anxiety lessened, and I felt seen, valued, and safe — all of which are just as vital to healing as any medicine or treatment.
