The compassion and dedication she demonstrated during the visit were truly exceptional.
We recently visited the ER with a close family friend twice in one month; Amy was the nurse for both visits. Amy demonstrated not only clinical excellence but also genuine kindness.
The ER can be a stressful, overwhelming environment, but her presence immediately made him feel safe and cared for. Amy took the time to explain everything that she was doing in a way that was easy to understand. During our second visit, our family friend was experiencing confusion and some delusional thoughts. He was agitated and resistant to being in the ER.
However, upon seeing Amy, he immediately became calmer, and she was able to engage him in a meaningful conversation. Her presence and compassion seemed to ease his distress, making a difficult situation more manageable for everyone involved. Our family friend recalled that during his previous visit to the ER, the commode was firm and uncomfortable to sit on.
Amy remembered this also and wrapped incontinent pads on the commode seat with Coban to improve his comfort. She responded to his needs and moved efficiently around the ER room. Amy treats each patient like family. The compassion and dedication she demonstrated during the visit were truly exceptional.
Amy embodies the very heart of nursing, showing kindness and compassion while skillfully and efficiently caring for patients in the fast-paced ER.
