I have a few examples of nursing excellence that Olivia portrays:

The first example I have is from a Rapid Response for a patient who was struggling respiratory-wise; the respiratory therapist was not available to initiate the BiPAP for the patient, and no one else on the team had the knowledge of setting it up. Olivia took charge of the situation and set up the BiPAP immediately upon recognizing that the patient was declining. Patient recovered well due to Olivia's swift actions and expertise.

The second example is from when Olivia was assigned a challenging and noncompliant patient; despite the patient's behaviors, Olivia continued to provide excellent nursing care for the patient and would walk with the patient in the halls and even took the time to braid the patient's hair. She built an excellent rapport with that patient who was otherwise unwilling to cooperate.

The last example I have is regarding her persistent and consistent communication, care, and interventions. Olivia had a patient who was nearing the end of life; the patient began to exhibit some restlessness and agitation. Olivia was prompt with her communication with the provider in developing a plan and executing interventions. Because of her thorough communication and documentation, everyone on the care team, including the family of the patient, was well-informed and updated accordingly; new and effective interventions were obtained for the remainder of the patient's stay thanks to Olivia's diligence.
