I had dreaded the thought of a long, anxious stay. But thanks to Pam, that time became a warm, beautiful memory that I will treasure forever.
Pam was the first nurse who took care of me when I arrived at my hospital room. I was admitted as a high-risk pregnancy patient and was facing over a month of hospitalization. I was extremely nervous when I arrived, but she greeted both my husband and me with such warmth and positivity that I immediately felt my anxiety ease. It was a truly significant moment for both of us.
My medical condition was very rare, and there was very little information available online. Every day, I lived with the fear of what might happen to my baby. But Pam patiently explained everything to me in detail, and above all, her warm, kind presence became an enormous source of comfort. She was not only incredibly compassionate but also highly professional — her knowledge, skills, and care were all things I could trust completely.
Pam always kept track of my daily schedule — medications, injections, blood sugar checks — and would come to me proactively before I even needed to ask. Even on days when she wasn’t assigned to me, she would always smile and warmly greet me whenever she saw me. I cannot express enough how much this consistent kindness brightened my long hospital stay. Right before my delivery, she gave me wonderful advice — not just about the physical aspects but something deeply emotional, connecting human to human, and it touched me so much that I almost cried.
After my safe delivery, when we visited the unit to show her our baby, she celebrated with us with such genuine joy, expressing her happiness over and over again. Before my hospitalization started, I had dreaded the thought of a long, anxious stay. But thanks to Pam, that time became a warm, beautiful memory that I will treasure forever. I truly feel grateful that I was able to be in this hospital. I was surrounded by such an amazing and professional team — not only Pam but also the other nurses and doctors. I am filled with gratitude from the bottom of my heart. Thank you so much.
Note: This is Pam's 2nd DAISY Award!
