Today we had our baby baptized. Claire, her nurse in the ICU, went above and beyond to help coordinate the catholic baptism. This meant so much to our family. Claire prepared our baby for the ceremony by changing her crib and covering her in all white. Claire participated in videotaping this special ceremony for us. Her kind and gentle demeanor put us at ease. A nurse’s job is to provide compassionate care to the patient, but Claire provided this care to the whole family, the parents, grandparents, and aunt. Being in Claire’s presence gave us peace of mind that our baby is in good hands. Claire went above and beyond in such a scary time.
