Commitment:

Adriane’s commitment to serving Veterans is evident in her daily activities. In 2024, a Veteran was complaining of significant abdominal pain. He was taken to the ED, and it was discovered that he had a mass in his colon. Subsequent acute care took place, and Adriane proceeded to engage in intensive care coordination with the Office of Community Care in the VA, community care providers such as Oncologists, Surgeons, and various other professionals, including ostomy care. Adriane provided daily ostomy instruction for the Veteran, given her strong relationship and rapport with the Veteran, who has a severe mental illness and challenges with engagement with people he does not know. Her unwavering dedication to her patients and the VA mission is clear in her tireless efforts to improve the lives of those she serves.

Advocacy:

Adriane exemplifies advocacy by consistently working to ensure Veterans receive the care and services they need. She navigates various healthcare systems, coordinating with different providers and professionals to deliver comprehensive and seamless care.
