Mariana answered the 24-hour phone line when I called to say that I thought I had miscarried my second twin at home. I was very upset on the phone, and Mariana could see from my notes that I had been in just a few days earlier when I miscarried my first twin, after waiting 5.5 hours to be seen.

She reassured me that this would not happen again and explained that she would be on the ward that afternoon. She asked me to come in and ask for her at the main desk and said she would take me straight into a private room, along with my miscarried baby.

That day, Mariana was my angel. She listened to me, clearly explained everything, and ensured that my babies would be sent together with the same funeral arrangements. She gave me, my husband, and my babies time, space, and dignity.

Mariana was so kind, compassionate, and professional. I was incredibly lucky that she answered the phone that day — she made an unbearable situation just that little bit easier. Mariana is the best advocate for early pregnancy care I have ever met.
