My mom came in for dehydration following COVID. She came in around 5 am. Ms. Patti was her oncoming AM nurse. She came in, introduced herself, and implemented all safety precautions (side rails, call light) that were not ignited from the prior shift. She provided my mom with a blanket and a drink. She even made sure I was cozy. She was very patient and compassionate. Even with just starting her day, she made us feel welcome. Nursing is a very stressful profession and one that is steadily changing. It's nice to see nurses who are compassionate and care. I immediately picked up on her kind spirit. I know that during our time of need, she made us feel safe. I witnessed true kindness with her and therefore recommend her for this nomination.
