To date I never encountered such an efficient caring and loving nurse like Kristine.
I entered Capital Medical Center in Olympia, Washington, the emergency room, with severe pain in my abdomen. Tests were taken, and results showed I had a severe infection in my colon. No surgeon was present at the time, so I was admitted to the Capital Medical Center MultiCare Hospital.
Immediately after being taken upstairs, Mrs. Kristine Joie Danan introduced herself and became my nurse on the floor.
She was so efficient at getting me checked in, administering required medications, checking IV drip lines, and ensuring compliance with the doctor's orders. Her clear tone of voice was very calming, which gave me assurance. I knew instantly I was going to be well taken care of. Her direct eye contact made me aware she was really listening to me.
Mrs. Danan was very knowledgeable of protocols, procedures to be followed and documentation required.
She checked in on me very often, and if I rang for her, she was immediately there. I commend her on her immediate response time in reacting to my immediate needs. She always made sure I was comfortable and asked if she could help me with any other needs.
The following day, the surgeon came to clean the abscess and insert a drain tube. Mrs. Danan once again was by my side to assist me, reassured me and provided needed transport preparations. Once I returned to the ward, she was right there with transferring assistance and made sure I was comfortable.
Kristine was efficient with my medications being administered on time and quick computer entries with accuracy. This was important to me as I had more medical follow-ups with different doctors.
She was aware of my personal touch needs and provided items to care for my dry lips and dry skin. All the services she provided for me were pain-free, like IV changes and needle medication injections. I was discharged from the Olympia MultiCare hospital, and she quickly offered and assisted my husband and me with needed preparations.
Once again, I was admitted to the hospital and Mrs. Kristine Joie Danan was my assigned nurse and attended to my admittance protocol. She was familiar with me, and care was ordered by the attending physician.
Once again, her personal touch was present, and she walked me through the ordeal. She made sure my husband and I had everything I needed for transitioning from hospital to home care.
Since my encounter with Mrs. Kristine Joie Danan at Capital Medical Center hospital, I have been back into the emergency room at Olympia then transferred to Auburn MultiCare hospital, placed in home health nursing care and two surgeries at Swedish Edmonds Hospital.
What a long 5-month ordeal and encounter with many nurses. To date I never encountered such an efficient caring and loving nurse like Kristine.
I know much of this is standard procedure, but what I saw in her was a love for her career, always a willingness to help other staff, deep desire to accommodate patients and a heart to do a perfect job for your organization.
She is a wonderful asset to MultiCare and should be recognized for her dedication and service.
