She has been and continues to play a critical role in my journey of treating my health conditions.
I am a patient with the VA & a Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. I am writing to you this morning on request of my case manager, Eva Morales, who had asked me to provide feedback on her position as a case manager, both the good and the bad.
Navigating the VA in general can be very overwhelming, and for nearly a decade, I avoided it for that very reason, as a lot of vets do. However, in recent years, I have developed health issues that have significantly impacted my day-to-day life. I can't remember when exactly I was assigned to Eva Morales as my case manager, but it has completely opened my eyes to how helpful VA can be.
I wish this had been my experience 10-15 years ago, and that all vets could experience having a case manager like her. She goes above and beyond, making wellness checks on me, ensuring that I haven't forgotten about upcoming appointments, and has expedited the process of specialty care providers reaching out to me from referrals.
Eva had asked me to be fair and impartial in my criticism; maybe as time progresses, I will have that constructive criticism for her. In this moment, I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with her. She has made me feel truly taken care of as if she were my own family. In the last 3 months, I can think of multiple examples of having frustrations with the VA, being overwhelmed with the system, where Eva had stepped in to help me navigate it.
She has been and continues to play a critical role in my journey of treating my health conditions. If I did not have her assigned to me as a case manager, it would significantly impact me personally in my continued care.
