My husband has had five lengthy hospital stays over the past six months, and he is not always easy to deal with. This nurse has been one of our nurses each time. On the second night here, I had not been able to sleep at all. She found a recliner in an empty room and brought it to me so I could prop my feet up when I wasn't caring for him.

You could tell she truly had compassion for both of us, but was firm with him about things he needed to do. One night, it was almost shift change, he grabbed his chest with clenched fists, and she immediately went into action, calling the doctor and getting things into place and completed before she would leave us. No one action can totally set a nurse apart, but it was her attitude that was always looking for another opportunity to serve while doing her work efficiently and effectively.

I think Baptist is very blessed to have her as a member of their care team. My husband even said, "Where do I know her from?" She treats me like she knows me. Several of her peers commented on how much of a help she has been to them. She has proven her nursing abilities as well as her care, concern, and attitude over and over.
