I believe that ER nurses can often get overlooked in terms of recognition for quality care, but they should be acknowledged for the great work they do to stabilize the patient and comfort the family prior to admission.

In this case, Ryan was the nurse for my grandmother, who came in and had coded 3 times before being stabilized in the ER. Ryan was not only clinically impressive, but his bedside manner and communication skills were excellent. Ryan was quick to keep us in the loop, which helped with the emotional time we were having. He was efficient, knowledgeable, and never showed frustration when being asked multiple questions. He was calm and present, and we want to express our appreciation for all he did for our grandmother during her time in the ER.
