Makeya is kind and compassionate with geropsych patients in the ER. There was a patient in the ER for over 100 hours, and nobody could get her to eat or use the toilet. She fought anyone who tried to provide care.

Makeya sat with her and talked to her calmly. She spent time with her when others hadn't. The patient ate independently and started using the toilet. Even though these seem like little milestones, they meant a world to this patient's overall care plan and meant the difference between another court date with inevitable further hospitalization and going back to her care home.

Makeya's kindness and patience are what are needed in an Emergency Nurse.
