Shauna exemplifies the qualities I see in the very best teachers. She was my preceptor for 4 months. She takes this role very seriously, making sure her preceptee is learning at every stage. She pushed me to be a decision-maker, to question why we do what we do, and not to limit myself to the traditional Paramedic role, but to understand and be able to perform almost all the tasks on our team.

Shauna would not only debrief calls, but when I had trouble understanding something, she would later send me additional information to review. As an educator at the base, Shauna is incredibly thorough. Whether you are performing a patient scenario, skills, or reviewing equipment, Shauna works through these things methodically so that we are always learning something new. Shauna is a person who refuses to cut corners. Shauna works at a very busy base in Page, spends a lot of time educating our 20+ employees here every quarter, and I have never heard her complain about it. She is a positive, driven individual whom I am proud to work with.
