Murphy treats her patients with nothing but understanding and respect towards each individual's struggles and needs.
I feel that Murphy Duffy is an exemplary nurse and shows the attributes of what I would consider to be a DAISY nurse. Throughout my time at Mid Coast Hospital, I have seen nothing but compassion for her patients and attentiveness towards her tasks. I've seen Patients come through the emergency department, that due to their visits, need extra care and attention.
An example of these actions would be when patients with disabilities or those struggling with suicidal tendencies have been seen as a harm to themselves or others. Murphy Duffy shows that these patients are not only sometimes misunderstood but also, with extra care and attention, they find a new way of recovery due to Murphy's care and compassion shown in how she utilizes her time management with each individual.
Murphy treats her patients with nothing but understanding and respect towards each individual's struggles and needs. She even at times when patients snap, yell, curse, and even spit at her shows restraint and seems to preferer to deescalate the situation as much as possible.
Murphy is also helpful with other staff members, such as with security. She has gone the extra mile in her day-to-day to help our security team with simple things, such as notifying us of who her patents are. She does this for us, so if the patient needs anything from her, we can notify her directly, so they receive the care they need quickly and effectively. (From my perspective Murphy is the only nurse that I've witness do this).
Nurse Murphy is also an ongoing student and though having a lot on their plate, per my perspective Murphy strives in seeking higher education in her field.
To my knowlege Murphy, though being a fairly new nurse, has always shown tenacity towards her career. She has risen above the call of duty for her job from all the way from when she was a tech, to her now being an exemplary nurse It is for these reasons that I believe Murphy Duffy is the epitome of what nurses should strive to be. Caring for not only her staff members and patients, but also much more.
