My granddaughter was life-flighted from the Tupelo, MS, hospital with a diagnosis of attempted suicide. I kept saying that was not what this was, something was wrong. Emily listened. She looked at the charts and then consulted with doctors.

Emily crouched beside my chair in the room and said, “We’re listening, mama. We hear you. We see what was said and are looking because the stats don’t coincide with what Tupelo said.”
