So, she was not only looking out for our daughter, she was looking out for me, and that is amazing.
Our daughter was on a roller coaster. We had gone from our home ER, been transported to another local hospital for more care, and then transported again to Memphis, Le Bonheur. Our girl was scared and screaming and yelling at everyone who entered the room or even looked at her.

On Thursday morning, we had our nurse, Kimmy; she took right to our daughter and was trying hard to put her at ease, even though she was making it very tough. Everyone in the hall was talking about how she yelled at everyone coming in. Each time Kimmy came in, she tried to interact, play, or even get a high five. She finally took to Kimmy and was giving her high fives, and it was nice not hear her yell at someone.

Kimmy even took time out of her very busy shift to sit down and color with her. She would make sure our daughter was trying to eat or drink or find her something she enjoyed. She also made sure I was doing okay. She would tell me she would watch over her so I could take a walk and get a breather. So, she was not only looking out for our daughter, she was looking out for me, and that is amazing.

A nurse to look out for the whole family, not just the patient, and I do not believe that our daughter was just another patient to Kimmy either. We are very grateful for the extra time she took out to try to make a connection with our girl.
