Cindy embodies everything nursing should be. She is compassionate, empathetic, attentive, and deeply committed to her patients.
My husband has faced cancer four times and has endured a lifetime of medical trauma. He was incredibly anxious leading up to his lung biopsy, where Cindy was his nurse. From the moment we met Cindy, her warmth and kindness made a profound impact. She took the time to ask him about his previous biopsies, what had worked well, and what he was most worried about. She listened with compassion and tailored her care to meet his unique needs that day. Her presence immediately put him more at ease.
During the procedure, complications arose; the team struggled to obtain the necessary samples due to the tumor’s location. My husband had to remain awake for the entire procedure, something he had been dreading. Cindy never left his side; she held his hand, spoke to him calmly and reassuringly, and made sure he felt safe every moment. He later told me he couldn’t have made it through the procedure without her.
When complications escalated and he developed a pneumothorax requiring a chest tube, Cindy continued to advocate for him with grace and strength. In recovery, she kept me informed, made sure he was as comfortable as possible, and took the time to genuinely connect with us as people—not just patients.
Cindy embodies everything nursing should be. She is compassionate, empathetic, attentive, and deeply committed to her patients. She brought light and comfort to a day filled with fear, and her care has left a lasting impression on both of us.
