Our 5-year-old daughter was admitted for a rare condition to the surgical suite after hours. Chelsea was our pre-op and post-op nurse. She greeted us with her Southern hospitality and made us feel a little more at ease during a high-stress situation.

She was incredibly kind to our daughter, who was surprisingly very calm herself. Chelsea gave her stickers to decorate her warming blanket with, talked to our daughter about Aladdin and her favorite characters, and entertained her with coloring skills. She took the time to explain to us (the parents) about what was going to happen. She gave us caps to put on so all three of us looked the same.

She worked incredibly well with the entire surgical team to prepare our daughter and us for this adventure. When the procedure was done, and the intercom announced, "operating to recovery," Chelsea said, "there is our girl!" She seemed to care so much about the entire situation and was a blessing to have in our court at a high-stress time. Our daughter has never had a medical emergency before, and I hope never again.

We are eternally grateful for the entire team who took care of her and performed a surgery for a life-threatening condition, but especially Chelsea, who was the front line in dealing with us upon arrival. This experience with GFC was a pleasure for two parents who were basket cases and a 5-year-old who loved her "hotel" experience.
