Myriame does far above and beyond what is asked of her. She is dependable, selfless, and always willing to step in wherever she is needed.
Myriame Celestin is the true definition of a compassionate, dedicated, and extraordinary nurse.
Myriame consistently makes a meaningful difference in our unit, often in ways that many people dont even see. She shows up every day with a positive attitude, coffee in hand, ready to support her patients, her coworkers, and the entire team, even when her own workload is overwhelming.
One specific situation that truly shows who Myriame is happened during a particularly chaotic shift. Our unit was short-staffed with 7 nurses. Two admissions arrived at the same time in the step-down area, and one patient suddenly deteriorated and required rapid intervention.
Despite having a full assignment herself with demanding patients and complex needs, Myriame immediately stepped forward. She calmly assisted the primary nurse with the deteriorating patient, helping initiate life-saving interventions while reassuring the family, explaining every step with compassion and clarity.
Once the patient was stabilized, instead of returning to her own heavy workload, she noticed that another nurse was struggling with a new admission. Without hesitation, she completed the admission assessment, set the patient up comfortably, and made sure all orders were addressed. She then returned to her own assignment and caught up without a single complaint.
What stood out most that day was not just what she did, but how she did it gracefully, compassionately, and with a level of teamwork that lifted the entire unit.
Even under pressure, Myriame has a way of creating calm. She treats every patient as if they were her own family and treats every coworker with respect, empathy, and genuine kindness.
