There are many examples of why Tesa is deserving of the DAISY Award...not just one or two. Tesa is everything that you could ever hope for in a nurse. She is kind and compassionate to the patients, the families, and the staff. She is confident, and that confidence gives the patients and families peace of mind that the patient is getting the best care. Tesa pays attention to every detail. That is so evident and greatly appreciated. That allows families to be able to take a break from the worry and stress of caring for their loved one because they know their loved one is in the best hands. Tesa always followed through and made sure everything was done right. I have also noticed what a valuable asset she is as a mentor and teacher to other less seasoned caregivers. That is a critical characteristic of a charge nurse that I learned by observing while my husband was an inpatient. She is loved and respected by the other nurses, techs, and staff. She is not condescending but wants the person to learn so they can be their best. We (our family) truly hope that Tesa will be chosen for the DAISY Award. What a positive difference she has made for us through a very challenging situation. RHI is extremely fortunate to have her.
