I've endured an invisible illness for 20-plus years. I am a masters level clinician, so my job was to advocate. My nurse advocated for me like no other doctor or nurse. She not only listened to me, they heard me! My nurse is one of the best nurses at Lehigh. You need more of them. She can teach a class on empathy, care, and listening to other healthcare workers. No one in my 20 years plus advocated for me the way my nurse did. If she does not receive this Award, no one else should. Thank God for Kasey.
