In every interaction, Valor embodies the core values of nursing: kindness, knowledge, courage, and compassion.
I would like to nominate Nurse Valor for the DAISY Award in recognition of his exceptional valor, compassion, and clinical excellence. He consistently demonstrates what it means to be a nurse who goes above and beyond—not only in skill, but in heart.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Valor is his ability to remain calm and focused, even in the most high-pressure situations. His courage and clarity under stress provide reassurance not only to patients but also to fellow team members. He has an incredible ability to assess complex clinical situations quickly and make decisions with confidence and precision—truly a model of clinical excellence.
We experienced this firsthand when our 80-year-old mother was brought in after a serious car accident. As you can imagine, it was a roller coaster of emotions for our family—fear, confusion, and worry all at once. In the midst of that chaos, Valor's presence was nothing short of a blessing. His calm demeanor, clear communication, and deep knowledge brought a sense of peace and stability to an incredibly stressful situation. He explained everything patiently and compassionately, making sure we understood what was happening and what to expect next. His support made all the difference—not just for our mother, but for all of us.
What truly sets Valor apart is the way he combines clinical skill with heartfelt compassion. Patients and families feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. He is a calming presence during the most difficult moments, always advocating for patients with empathy and professionalism. In every interaction, Valor embodies the core values of nursing: kindness, knowledge, courage, and compassion. He goes the extra mile not for recognition, but because it’s simply who he is.
