JD was very attentive and listened to what I, as a wife of 52 years, had to say about my deaf husband's needs. JD caught my husband as he pulled his IV and tubes and entered the other patient's room. He persisted in contacting the doctors on the weekend, which is difficult. He got a sleeping medicine that was much needed. My husband is deaf, and JD would make sure my husband could read his lips. He never yelled at him, but made sure my husband understood what was happening since he was very sick and nervous.
