Jake didn’t stop at initial care and treatment. He volunteered to accompany the patient on transport to continue the high level of care being provided.
We all aspire to be that nurse who is always calm in the storm and possesses the courage and skill to take on any task thrown at us during our shift.
The ED had a patient delivered to our main entrance with multiple life-threatening injuries. Jake was actively involved in the rapid initiation of care, treatments, and transfer coordination. He was instrumental in ensuring this patient received great care.

During transport, he administered MTP (mass transfusion protocol) while teaming with the EMS team to maintain the patient's stability en route to Kennestone.
Kennestone recognized Jake for initiating a smooth and immediate handoff that facilitated the patient's transfer to the OR in just 4 minutes from arrival.
Our teams are honored to have Jake as an asset. His quick thinking and dedication were crucial in the patient’s care at both facilities and during transport. His expertise and ability to care in a high-pressure situation were key to this patient's successful outcome. His skill, expertise, and commitment to excellence were limitless, and he cared for the patient.
