Jenna made today easier, lighter, and more hopeful, not because everything was solved, but because we felt part of the team.
Our nurse, Jenna, made an unforgettable impact on our family today. She normally works in oncology but was floated to Pavilion 3 (GI/Renal), and we feel incredibly fortunate that she was assigned to us.

From the moment she came into the room, she not only cared for our daughter, she truly saw her. Jenna listened closely to our concerns, asked thoughtful questions, and even bounced ideas back and forth with me as we worked to understand what was going on. She never rushed, never dismissed, and never made me feel like I was “overthinking” or “worrying too much”. When I doubted myself, she reassured me. She treated me as a partner in my daughter’s care.

Jenna advocated for further assessment when it was needed and communicated with the team in a way that made us feel heard and supported. She sat with my daughter during quiet moments, patiently waited during her low-energy periods, and gently encouraged her during her small rally moments. She was steady, calm, and always joyful. Always with a smile on her face, always with grace and patience.

What stands out most is that Jenna was quick to listen and slow to speak. She didn’t just hear us, she understood us. Her willingness to truly listen made all the difference in feeling heard, respected, and cared for during a difficult time.

Jenna made today easier, lighter, and more hopeful, not because everything was solved, but because we felt part of the team. She exemplified what compassionate nursing care should be.

We are deeply grateful for her.
