JR told us multiple times that he's not content unless his patient is content, and we quickly realized how true that was.
I would like to recognize Jonathan (JR) for the extraordinary care he gave my dad during his ICU stay.

When we arrived at the hospital, we believed my dad was on an ECMO machine due to a clot in his lung that had dislodged. From the moment we got there, we watched JR in action, working nonstop to care for my dad. He explained everything to us thoroughly and in a way we could understand, always reassuring us. JR told us multiple times that he's not content unless his patient is content, and we quickly realized how true that was.

JR fought for my dad. His main goal, as he told us, was to one day shake my dad's hand as he walked out of the hospital, and he did everything in his power to make that happen. If he or the team ever felt like something was about to go sideways, JR was quick to respond and on top of everything. His calm but decisive actions gave us so much confidence during the scariest moments.

When my dad needed surgery to bust out the clots, we weren't sure if he was going to make it through. But JR stayed right by his side every step of the way. I will never forget walking back to the room after surgery and hearing JR cheering my dad on, shouting encouragement for him to wiggle his toes. Then we saw JR jumping up and down with excitement because my dad showed brain function and could follow commands. In that moment, I knew JR truly cared for his patients and was determined to see my dad get better.

Thanks to his dedication and skill, my dad is now coming home and will be returning to work within the next month. JR is simply amazing in every aspect, and I know for a fact that he is walking in his calling as a critical care nurse.

Thank you, JR, for all you did for my dad and for our family.
