Katelynn, I have tried to put this in words many times in the last week, but couldn’t. I have asked my son to help. You have been a blessing. I’m a 91-year-old Korean War Veteran. There is only one nurse that I would nominate for this award.

Katelynn Kingsbury is my RN at the Baraboo VA. She is extremely kind, caring, and compassionate. The best professional caregiver that I have ever known! I say this with utmost sincerity! Every week, Katelynn is scheduled to call me in order to check up on me in between my in-person appointments. Katelynn is 100% punctual. She is always on time and never misses a scheduled call during her very busy workday.

I cherish the friendship and patient care that I received through the several years with Katelynn as my primary nurse. I have gained a wealth of knowledge from her on the team. I have often wondered how nurses can juggle their responsibilities with the workload. Katelynn seems to accomplish her tasks with ease. My wife was an RN, and my granddaughter is an RN as well. So I know what their lives entail. Katelynn goes way beyond what the job and the patient require. She could always put ease to my concerns. She would instantly calm any fears. I would always feel much better when I met with her!

Hearing her voice so often was a great benefit in my life. Katelynn helped with my everyday issues in life tremendously! She is such a beautiful soul! I have been rich in heart to have Katelynn on my VA Healthcare Team. Anything that I needed, she looked into in order to help, usually that same day. It breaks my heart to have recently informed her that I will be moving to Madison with my family. When she learned that I was leaving, Katelynn wrote me a heartfelt note.

I will greatly miss her! I will notice a big void in my life without Katelynn as my primary nurse, so please consider that Katelynn Kingsbury is an extraordinary nurse and human being!
