From team members:

She is a very caring person and very, very patient. She knows her job.

***

Sharon was her patient's Savior. She's been a great caretaker when visiting.

***

Sharon is an excellent WellBe Nurse Practitioner. She manages a large panel of patients with seeming ease. She is willing to go above and beyond for patients and is one of our preceptors, helping to orient new NPs. She is a model of great scheduling and follow-up with patients, works with challenging patients with great care and compassion, and is a great asset to WellBe.

Sharon recently started seeing a patient with a very bad foot wound that was producing maggots. Sharon took the time to cleanse the wound and remove the maggots more than once. She discovered that the patient's home health nurse was not providing proper wound care and advocated for better care through the home health agency. Sharon ensured that the patient got the care that he needed.

***

A patient called to give her kudos to Sharon. The patient says she makes her smile when she is down; she is very caring. She does not want to be with any other provider; she trusts her very much.

***

Reporting on behalf of a patient, I just received an IBC from her, wanting to recognize Sharon with the DAISY Award. She stated that from the first visit to the most recent visit, Sharon has been consistent, compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional. If she could rate her on a scale from 1-10, she would give her 100.

Sharon goes above and beyond to help her fellow APPs and onboard them. She is an outstanding preceptor for new APPs that have joined the company. She provides an abundance of support and ensures they are prepared for their new role. Sharon has helped to onboard 2 new APPs to the company recently, and they have shared wonderful stories about their experiences with her. She goes above and beyond what is expected of a preceptor. She ensures that they get the best patient experiences. She spends hours with them developing their workflow, challenges in the field, and how to be prepared for the unexpected. Sharon lends a helping hand anytime it is needed. She exemplifies what an APP and preceptor should be.

***

Sharon consistently goes above and beyond for her patients. She knows each of them very well, is proactive in her care, and follows up immediately with any needs. She is extremely caring and kind with her patients and has a great relationship with them. They treat her as their trusted provider.

Sharon had a member with significant foot wounds who is morbidly obese and has a very difficult time reaching his feet to dress them. At one of her recent visits, she noted that the member actually had maggots in the wounds due to difficulty getting appropriate care. Sharon addressed the wounds, cleaned the members' feet, and set up more appropriate wound care with HH. She also went out to see this member at very short notice when he called one day, saying that his wound care nurse did not show up for the care he needed.

This is just one example of how Sharon consistently puts her patients first and exemplifies the WellBe Values we all strive to provide.

***

Sharon has compassion for her patients. She makes herself available to high needs patients even when her schedule is extremely busy. She has a challenging territory, and she rises to the challenges daily to improve the quality of life of her patients. Sharon has one challenging patient in particular who calls in very frequently (several times weekly). She often needs reassurance, but does have valid medical concerns as well.

Sharon is able to patiently tease out when things need to be treated versus when to provide support or listening. This patient’s life has been greatly impacted by Sharon’s compassionate care. Sharon has also reduced medical costs by coordinating with QuikMedic and social work to avoid hospitalizations and ER visits. Fantastic job, Sharon!

From patients:

She is awesome. She checks my vitals every time she comes by. I want to keep her on my care team.
