Every person on the unit has been pleasant and kind during my stay. Although…. the nurse I am nominating today deserves her own recognition. I would like to think that I am a person who doesn’t let things get to me, but with my recent diagnosis, I became fearful.

Alexandra happened to be in the room during my breakdown, and she was my saving grace. She stopped what she was doing to comfort and support me, even though she was busy. She shared a story of her own that helped ease my racing thoughts. She brought me peace in a time that felt so chaotic. She also stayed with me during my nauseated episodes until I felt better.

My father would always tell me, “Sometimes God blesses you through people.” I feel blessed to have had her as my nurse during that moment. It is my pleasure and honor to give her the recognition she deserves. God bless her and her family.
