As we traveled through each stage of his hospital stay, we encountered kindness and professionalism from all the staff members.
Throughout the year, this unit received a collection of patient comments and thank-you notes that shared the compassionate medical care this team provided. We had several great nominations, but two stood out, which we would like to share with you.

First nomination:
We want this team to know how deeply we appreciate the attention, compassion, and dedication they offered during our son and brother’s hospitalization. The team went far beyond their specialized neurological expertise. We are incredibly grateful for the extraordinary efforts they made to ensure he was comfortable in his final hours, which allowed him to transition peacefully.

Second nomination:
I want to thank all the nurses who worked with us at Henry Ford Macomb. We entered through the emergency department after my husband fell. As we traveled through each stage of his hospital stay, we encountered kindness and professionalism from all the staff members.

My 89-year-old husband had only been in the hospital once in his lifetime. He was weak and confused, sometimes unable to hear and communicate well with the staff. In every circumstance, the nurses went out of their way to understand him. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the names of each nurse who cared for my husband, but each one was truly remarkable.

All the staff members on the unit were patient, loving, gentle, and professional. To all of you who cared for him, we are very grateful! Thank you!

Congratulations to unit 4600 and especially those who were mentioned by name:
Maria Morales, Aveen Aishako, Benjamin Wentzel, Darlecia Washington, Alexandria Stella, and Sara Bailey.

We’d like to present your team with this plaque that will be permanently displayed on your unit. Your manager also has individual pins for the nurses to keep.

Your team will be recognized on OneHenry, in the weekly Headlines & Highlights newsletter, on the monitor in the cafeteria, near the gift shop, and with a special poster to display on your unit.

We would once again like to express our amazing nurses. You all are the heart of our hospital, and we are grateful for the care, comfort, and compassion you provide to our patients. Unit 4600 Nominations
