Kaitlyn was the trauma charge nurse on the Sunday night shift. In the middle of the night, she was called to a campus response for a mother on ICS for a child who was just diagnosed with a new cancer process. The mom’s water broke, and Kaitlyn checked the mom, and the baby’s head was already partially out and needed to be delivered. She then assisted mom and delivered the baby. The newborn baby and mom were then taken down to the ED and transferred to LDS Hospital. While waiting, Kaitlyn coordinated having the older sibling and dad come down to the ED to see mom and the new baby. She is always doing what is best for our patients and families. This is just one case where she has made an impact and shown just how amazing she truly is.
