I am honored to nominate Claudia Flores for the DAISY Award as she truly embodies the spirit of exceptional nursing. Claudia goes above and beyond for every patient she cares for, and while her compassionate actions often go unnoticed, I believe it's time her extraordinary work is recognized.

A recent example of Claudia’s dedication involved a patient who had been homeless and without proper hygiene for months. To many, a shower may seem like a small thing, but for this patient, it meant everything. With a significant barrier to overcome and an above-the-knee amputation, Claudia made it her mission to ensure this patient received a shower. With the help of the tech, L, they safely assisted the patient into the shower. He looked like a different person, clean, refreshed, and more at peace. His comfort was visibly improved, and I know that meant so much.

This was a demonstration of Claudia’s holistic approach to care. This is just one of the countless examples of Claudia’s remarkable ability to connect with patients on a deep emotional level. She takes the time to listen, to talk, and to truly get to know her patients. Claudia doesn't judge; she treats the body, and she heals the soul. Her kindness, patience, and dedication to each person she cares for set her apart as an exceptional nurse. I am proud to work alongside Claudia and am constantly inspired by her compassion. She is the kind of nurse every patient deserves, and every colleague aspires to be. Claudia's impact on our patients and our team cannot be overstated.
