You not only provided exceptional medical care but also emotional support that I will never forget.
I was a first-time mom. I was admitted to the labor and delivery unit after quite a dramatic water break at home. Nurse, LT Starcruiser, was my day shift nurse. From the get-go, she reassured and helped me stay calm. I didn’t like the epidural because of the lack of movement. But she reassured me that she would turn me 100 ways to help me be comfortable, and she did.
When I was anxious about being a new parent and not being ready (my baby came 3 weeks early, which turns out to be okay, but I wasn’t sure at the time) She gave me advice on being a parent when I was anxious about raising my girl. During the delivery, my baby was sunny side up, and the back Labor was excruciating. Nurse Christina was a huge key to my successful delivery without physical intervention. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and caring. In moments when other team members had doubts or questions, she answered those questions with patience and thoughtfulness.
No one in the team made me feel like I was a problem for them. I was so tired of pushing. The pressure from the back labor was too much for me. But nurse Christina did everything to get me to hold on and push. She even made me a stress ball out of tape. She coached me on my breathing even when I wasn’t listening. After the delivery, she taught us so many important skills (swaddling, burping, breastfeeding, diapering our newborn). Questions and suggestions from Nurse Christina were given with patience, understanding, and ease. She never judged me because of my questions.
When our baby had issues with temperature, she was attentive and focused. She wanted to find the root cause and communicated with the provider to be sure our daughter was okay. Over the entire experience, it was clear that Nurse Christina cared deeply about her job and patients. I believe she deserves recognition for her dedication to labor and delivery and her patients.

I don’t think I have ever met a nurse with such charisma and compassion as Kristina Starcruiser. She cared for me with the warmth and kindness of a mother or sister. Kristina has the most adorable and patient bedside manners. It was the perfect nurse-patient match, and I felt safe and worry-free. Small details meant the world to me, such as cool washcloths on my forehead, positioning assistance, explaining things in simple terms, and encouraging words. I never imagined that “you’re doing great” would mean so much. Thank you, Kristina, for your care and sympathy and for going the extra mile.
