He brought her back to us, even if it was only for a few days.
My aunt was admitted to the hospital when we were notified by the ICU nurse that she had taken a turn for the worse. She had been diagnosed with pneumonia earlier in the month.  When I arrived, I talked with the doctor in charge, who informed me that my aunt was seriously ill.  When I got to her room, she was extremely pale and not very coherent.  I spoke with Nate (who had been pulled by the charge nurse to care for her), who was doing everything in his power to help her.  I really didn't think she would make it that afternoon.  He was kind, compassionate, and professional.  By Sunday evening, I thought he had made major steps in her recovery.  She was alert and talking when I left.

Monday, again, Nate was there taking excellent care of her.  Monday afternoon, she was looking at vacation and back-to-school pictures.  She was so much better but still very sick. Nate did what I didn't think anyone else could do; the charge nurse told me that she had him with my aunt because she knew he was what she needed.  He brought her back to us, even if it was only for a few days.

I have told anyone who would listen about what Nate did those two days for us. If only all nurses were as astonishing as Nate!  I think he deserves this award more than I can express in this email.  My whole family is very grateful to this young man for all he did for her.  He took charge of her care, did all he could, and to me, that shows a truly compassionate heart. Again, words can't tell you how grateful I am to this man for taking such good care of my Aunt.
