With this unexpected hospitalization, Hannah was the light that shone brightly.
Hannah took care of my brother for three days straight, with the utmost professionalism, competence, and genuine caring. She explained procedures in a way he could understand and took time to ensure all aspects of quality of care were done to a “T.”
In one instance, she was following the process to flush the IV before administering a medication, only to find that the newly placed IV was not working, which could have led to an infiltrate. She graciously took the time to restart it and again explained all that was going on. As I spoke with her, she shared that she was a new nurse, which I would not have ever guessed.
Her confidence, skills, and knowledge were top-notch. Several times, my brother commented on how he felt well cared for (especially with Hannah ordering food for him, which was difficult for him). With this unexpected hospitalization, Hannah was the light that shone brightly. I must also comment on her respect for some of my recommendations, which were met with positivity and agreement and were quickly addressed.
To say Hannah is a gem is an understatement. She exemplified the DAISY Award through her extraordinary, compassionate care. I wanted to thank and recognize her for taking such wonderful care of my brother. Being on the other side of the bed as a patient is scary, yet Hannah decreased the anxiety, fear, and uncertainty that can weigh on both the patient and family.
Hannah, you have met your calling. You will touch so many lives, so keep going. You were meant to be a nurse!

Hannah is awesome! After having had many hospital stays over the past five years and having many good nurses, Hannah is the absolute best. She is knowledgeable, kind, and makes the stay enjoyable. It’s not often you hear it’s enjoyable to be in the hospital. She represents Banner very well.

Hannah stayed on top of the orders and his needs. She was very attentive, staying on top of the stat order to get a feeding tube in. She was very personable and took care of the needs of the family as well as my dad. She took time to explain things to us. She made us feel heard.
