I was rushed to the emergency room of Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Medical Center by EMS personnel. As a 67-year-old person, I never thought that I was going to suffer cardiac arrest. After three days in the ICU, I was transferred to the fourth floor. Here is when I met RN Diana Sanchez, whose knowledge and skillful approach to analyzing a complex situation explained the procedure clearly to my family and me.

Nurse Diana was a constant source of calm. Diana was there tirelessly helping me and helping us understand the situation. She patiently explained things multiple times and was always concerned about my wellbeing and making sure if I needed something, her devoted and skilled care made a huge impression on me and our family.

Nurse Diana's kindness made a world of difference during my recent hospital stay, which was a frightening experience. When I was feeling anxious about an upcoming procedure, Diana took the time to explain everything clearly and stayed with me until I felt calm. She showed genuine compassion by listening patiently and advocating for my comfort, caring for my emotions as well as my physical well-being.

I'm honored to recognize Nurse Diana Sanchez, who consistently demonstrates exceptional professionalism and empathy. During her challenging shift, she calmly managed my situation while simultaneously supporting the family. Her willingness to mentor new nurses and foster a supportive environment is an inspiration to all of us in the family. In conclusion, she just didn't treat me as a patient; she treated me as a person.
