Jordyn didn’t just give me medicine and walk away; she listened, she believed me when I described my pain, and she treated me with kindness and patience.
I live with sickle cell disease, and there are times when the pain can feel overwhelming. During one of those difficult moments, I was fortunate enough to have a nurse who truly understood me, not just my condition, but me as a person. Jordyn didn’t just give me medicine and walk away; she listened, she believed me when I described my pain, and she treated me with kindness and patience. She took the time to explain what was happening, reassured me when I felt scared, and made sure I was as comfortable as possible.
What stood out the most was how compassionate she was. In a world where people with sickle cell are often misunderstood or judged, she made me feel seen, cared for, and respected. I’ll never forget how much lighter she made that heavy moment feel. I am so grateful for her understanding and the way she went above and beyond to make sure I didn’t feel alone in my struggle.
Little note to her: Thank you, Nurse Jordyn, for your kindness and understanding. Your love and compassion made my pain easier to bear. I am truly grateful to you.
