Ariel goes above and beyond her duties as a nurse, meeting clients where they're at and making them feel at home in her presence. 

We had a transgender client come in off the streets who was cognitively and developmentally impaired. She arrived much later than anticipated and expressed feeling extremely nervous about the physical portion of the nursing intake due to gender dysphoria. I was asked to be the secondary support staff, and noted that Ariel flawlessly adjusted her language to be gender affirming when guiding this client through the body search. Due to this client struggling with cognitive processing, fine motor skills, and verbal communication, Ariel patiently explained every question as many times as the client needed to feel like an active participant in her own treatment. After the two-and-a-half-hour nursing portion of the intake was complete, Ariel even stayed late and went to the pharmacy to ensure this client would not miss a dose of her seizure medication. 

She really humanizes everyone around her. Her presence inspires an unavoidable and contagious compassion directed inward and outward, in both clients and staff. 

I've never met someone who is so acutely attuned to when clients need softness and when they need strength. She has incredible boundaries and still goes the extra mile for those around her. I have had days where I truly would have felt so overwhelmed without her, but having Ariel there helped me remember to slow down and stay intentional.
