Let me tell you about our nurse Steve....  better yet, read what a patient wants you to know about Steve :

"I wanted to reach out and let you know about an experience I had at your oncology/hematology clinic. I was referred here due to an abnormality in my labs. I have never felt so seen or heard as a patient as I have in this clinic. L and Steve were paramount in this! I wanted to make sure I was reaching out to the appropriate team.

Steve is an amazing asset to your team. He made me feel so seen and comfortable! I work in healthcare as well, so I wanted to make sure he knew how much what he did for me, and our conversation had such a huge impact on me! I can't thank you enough for staffing your clinic with people who feel and appreciate someone else's struggle. It makes a huge difference, and I just wanted you all to know. Thank you so much, Steve! I appreciate you more than you will ever know!"

Steve  has seen many patients in his career here; however, he remembers that it may be the patient's first time here. Steve brings caring, compassion, and excellence to each one of  his patients. He is active in ULC as the chair. He is an engaged member of Nursing Congress and has stepped up to create a publication for Nursing Congress. Outside of MGH, Steve is an active member of his community,  volunteering tirelessly with Open Door Resource Center. In June 2024, he was honored as the recipient of the Kristin Joseph Gold Star Award.   Steve doesn't do it for the recognition.  He lives by his motto, "Helping others makes yourself feel better." He extends himself here at MGH and in his community, living the OhioHealth  vision: To provide exceptional care for all through experiences that earn a lifetime of trust.
