Because of her constant support and encouragement, I started to regain confidence in myself. And today, I am standing on my feet again, first by the grace of God, and then because of her, the person who gave me hope when I was about to give up
I am a patient in a rehabilitation hospital. I have been receiving treatment for a while after a fall accident from the third floor that caused fractures in both of my legs and in my pelvis, leaving me unable to walk the way I used to. The first days were extremely difficult. I was filled with frustration and hopelessness, and I couldn't believe that I would ever recover or stand on my feet again.
From the very first day I met Nurse Amirah, she welcomed me with a sincere smile and encouraging words that I still remember to this day. She always told me, "I believe you will walk again, but you must believe in yourself first." She accompanied me during my therapy sessions, helped me with patience, and encouraged me with every single step, even the smallest one. Whenever I got tired or lost hope, she would smile and say, "Today's step is better than yesterday, and that's enough."
Because of her constant support and encouragement, I started to regain confidence in myself. And today, I am standing on my feet again, first by the grace of God, and then because of her, the person who gave me hope when I was about to give up. NurseĀ Amirah is not just a nurse; she is a real angel among us. I am writing these words because she truly represents the real meaning of compassion and humanity in nursing.
