I am writing to nominate Nurse Jillian Kendrick for the DAISY Award in recognition of the exceptional, compassionate care she has provided me during my time in the MHRTTP program at the Tuskegee VA Medical Center.

From the first day I entered the program, Nurse Kendrick greeted me with warmth, patience, and a genuine concern for my well-being. Her sweet and kind nature has consistently helped me feel supported, seen, and safe during a very challenging and transformative time in my life. Whether she was administering care, offering a listening ear, or simply sharing a kind word, Nurse Kendrick approached every interaction with grace, empathy, and professionalism. I get an injection once a month as a part of my treatment, and I always have this nurse administer the painful injection because their gentle hands, wonderful personality, and smile temporarily assuage any discomfort I would normally feel during the process.

What sets her apart is not only her clinical skill, but the heart that she brings to her role. She treats every veteran she encounters with dignity and respect, and her nurturing spirit has made a meaningful difference in my healing process. I truly believe she embodies the very essence of what the DAISY Award represents. It is because of caregivers like Nurse Kendrick that veterans like myself are able to walk a path toward recovery with hope and strength. I am deeply grateful for her care.
