When Cynthia stepped in, she took the time to truly connect with her patient, listening to her fears, learning her preferences, and building a sense of trust. Cynthia developed a care plan that included explaining each step, incorporating the patient’s input, and even playing their favorite country western music to ease anxiety during treatment.

During a recent dressing change, what had once been a scene of pain and tears was transformed into one of calm and laughter. The patient was even joking with the staff. The physicians who were managing the patient’s care witnessed the transformation firsthand and praised Cynthia for her extraordinary compassion and creativity in patient-centered care.
