While I may have only been a patient overnight for 1 day, I have never met a more passionate, knowledgeable, and caring person in my lifetime. She was so thorough in her medical knowledge of each situation that presented during my stay. She was a problem solver and was constantly concerned about my pain and did everything she possibly could to make me, as well as the other patients in her care, comfortable. She was quick to respond and made you feel like you were her only concern in the world. She came up with positioning options, medication alternatives, and emotional support throughout my stay. And to think that she leaves her night shift job and goes home to care for her 2-year-old child. She truly is an angel on this earth and is so deserving of this award. Words cannot really express how wonderful she is and how truly blessed I was to have her as my nurse, how lucky the institution is to have her as an employee, and how lucky the profession of nursing is to have her as a member.
