Misty was the most fantastic, caring, diligent, and considerate healthcare worker I have personally ever encountered. From the moment we met and she kindly introduced herself to when I was discharged, and she asked if I needed anything, Misty always made sure to put my needs first as the patient. She was very on top of hourly (or even more frequent) check-ins, and beyond doing my routine vitals and rounds, she always made sure to ask how I was feeling to more accurately track progress.

Additionally, throughout the night and early morning shifts, Misty was very careful not to disturb my rest while I recovered from severe motion sickness and nausea. She would also ensure me that I could try eating/drinking depending on how I felt, but that there was no rush or pressure because she would be bringing in a new, fresh meal shortly, in addition to anything else I needed. Her kind demeanor alone made me feel safe and heard in an unfamiliar environment, as I was out of state and experiencing a highly stressful event. And although nobody wishes to be hospitalized, I can confidently say that coming to Asante was the best decision we could’ve made.

Misty left a very good impression of healthcare in Oregon on me because she was always sure to ask how I was feeling to see how she could go beyond the basic routines, checking in on my mental state in addition to treating my physical symptoms. I am deeply appreciative and grateful for her work in helping me get back on my feet. This positive experience even overshadowed the negative aspect of getting sick on my vacation and would encourage me to visit whenever I visit Oregon again.
