Using both her knowledge as a certified exercise therapist and her nursing knowledge, she was always engaged, caring, and ready to talk with participants about their health needs.
Lillianna has gone above and beyond in her community service for the CAREs grant. She joined the grant as part of her community health and immersion clinicals, and she immediately began to provide health education at various sites. I was with her for multiple sessions at The Salvation Army and Dunbar Village Senior Center, and I was so impressed by her ability to relate to the participants.
Using both her knowledge as a certified exercise therapist and her nursing knowledge, she was always engaged, caring, and ready to talk with participants about their health needs. She also created many new health education presentations, and the Salvation Army caseworker said he was very impressed with her hygiene presentation. He said that they are now showing Lilly's hygiene presentation to every new resident at the Center for Hope as part of the intake process.
Even after Lilly completed her 90 hours for the grant, she agreed to do 8 extra hours because we needed help for two events at The Salvation Army and Dunbar Village Senior Center. She didn't have to do this, but it shows the kind of person that she is. Lilly is the epitome of the DAISY Award: caring, dedicated, and passionate about helping others.
