Her clinical skills, willingness to help, and warm, funny personality have made working on B4 so much better.
The issue of what makes a great nurse is one that is often asked. It entails bringing your finest attributes to work in order to support favorable patient outcomes and work toward advancing the nursing profession. You look for ways to enhance patient care and advocacy while serving as a vital component of a healthcare team. Additionally, you might excel in the nursing profession by having specific personality traits and qualities that are typical among nurses. such as advocacy, communication, empathy, critical thinking, diligence, honesty, and openness to new information. Mimi embodies each of these attributes and more. Her ability for continuous education has been a great aspect of Methodist.

A nurse that I believe is truly deserving of a DAISY Award is Mimi. She holds all the qualities of a DAISY recipient and then some. Mimi has gone out of her way to make new nurses, including myself, feel welcome to our unit, as well as helping and educating them when needed. Mimi is one of the nurses on my unit that we look up to and value as coworkers. She not only knows her assignment but is able to tell you about and care for the other patients on our unit as well. A quality that stands out for Mimi as a nurse is her drive to make our unit better. While working on our unit, Mimi took the initiative to learn a new skill. Becoming certified using the ultrasound-guided machine has now helped tremendously on our unit. Mimi is a core asset to our unit and the patients.

Mimi is an exceptional nurse who truly stands out on our unit. Her clinical skills are outstanding—she always knows exactly what to do in any situation, and her confidence brings a sense of calm to both patients and staff. She’s incredibly helpful, always willing to lend a hand or share her knowledge with others, and she does it all with a bright, bubbly energy that lifts the whole team. Mimi’s compassion, competence, and positivity make her one of the best nurses on the floor and an invaluable part of our work family.

Mimi is, without a doubt, one of the greatest assets on B4. She is immensely helpful to every other nurse. From helping others with admission tasks when a patient gets on the floor, to assisting with difficult labs and IV sticks, to just being a helping hand at any point in the night, she truly makes everyone else’s job easier around her. Mind you, Mimi does all of these things for other people with a smile on her face and without complaint. She has such a high skill level, but she also manages to make everyone smile around her and encourage her fellow nurses. I don’t know what we would do without her on the unit. It is shocking that she hasn’t received a DAISY yet because she is the epitome of what a deserving nurse looks like for this award: diligent, encouraging, overachieving, skillful, and efficient. I’m honored to nominate Mimi Thai for a DAISY Award.

Mimi’s infectious positivity transforms our high-stress environment, uplifting both colleagues and patients. Mimi’s reliability shines through in her willingness to assist coworkers and her expertise in IV insertion and difficult lab draws. She delivers compassionate, skilled care to every patient, making her a true role model who enhances outcomes and inspires excellence.

Mimi brings positive energy to our work environment; it is always a pleasure to work with her. She also has assisted the unit with putting in difficult IVs, which makes her a great asset to our unit. Her expertise and clinical skills/judgment make her a great nurse. I have no doubt she will succeed in any environment. I am honored to nominate her for a DAISY Award.
