Taiba Amiri demonstrated compassion and a willingness to go above and beyond in a difficult, unexpected situation. Recently, at the Union City Memory Clinic, an elderly couple—ages 89 and 90—came in for a 4:00 PM appointment. During the visit, they received an unexpected diagnosis that was understandably emotional and overwhelming for both of them.

By the time their appointment concluded, the rest of our clinic staff had already left for the day, leaving our physician alone to manage the situation. Recognizing the need for support, our physician sought help and found Taiba still at her desk. Without hesitation, Taiba stepped in to assist. She helped wheel the patient out with kindness and professionalism, providing both practical and emotional support in a very delicate moment.

Taiba’s responsiveness, empathy, and teamwork exemplify the values we strive for. Her actions made a real difference for both the physician and the patients that day, and we are grateful for her dedication.

Taiba began her journey at Kaiser Permanente in 2002 as a Medical Assistant in the Adult Family Medicine department. Her deep passion for caring for others inspired her to pursue further education. She temporarily left AFM to become an LVN, and with continued dedication, she later earned her RN credentials.

As Taiba climbed the ladder to expand her ability to provide exceptional patient care, we’ve proudly watched her grow and flourish in her role. You once shared with me that you hoped to return to AFM—and we’re so happy to say: Welcome back home!
